Welcome to The Land of Url, a new comic feature about a community of furry forest animals in a place not to far from here or there. In this humorous narrative other non-furry, non-forest, non-animal, creature-things will come and go. Some will come and stay. As you read the strip regularly you’ll enjoy seeing their world unfold. Many of you will delight in getting to know the strip and the characters that inhabit The Land of Url. And I know, though regrettably, there will be a minority of few that will not delight in these things. Regardless, I wish you all success and prosperity.
I invite you, especially those who aren’t acquainted with the pleasure of reading comic strips, to step into the domain of Url. You’ll see the personalities come alive one strip at a time. As with most comic strips everything will grow and evolve– the characters, the art, the writing and the web site. It is my hope that I can persuade you to purposefully divert your attentions once a week or so to grow with us– the characters, as well as the writer/artist/designer/ web developer. You’ll smile and you’ll laugh as you get to know this community of comical characters.
I also hope to get to know you as you respond with comments and emails. It may interest you, (or not) that should you become a regular, a fan, you will get insight into the mind that bring you The Land of Url. I know, a scary thought! This is the creative guy– writer/artist/designer– who spends his time making this simple, funny comic strip.
So consider this your official invitation to enjoy a new, entertaining web comic. Not that you need an official invitation. But hey, if you want an official-official invitation, send an email with subject like: "Hey Ace, send us an official invitation to read The Land of Url." Please include your address in the email. (Duh-me, as if I would need to remind you.) If we get enough requests, we may produce a printed invitation. Maybe I’ll throw in some goodies. (Maybe.) Then, someday in the far-far-away future, that invitation may become a collectors item. All because you and a bunch of other people said, “Hey, that printed invitation sounds like a great idea! I think I want one.”
